There’s an abundance of walks and cycle routes in the area, and other Peak District towns and villages within a half hour drive include Buxton, Castleton, Hathersage, Hayfield, Holmfirth and Edale. The National Trusts Lyme Park can also be reached in around half an hour, as can Derwent Reservoir. The magnificent Chatsworth House is around a 50-minute drive, and Glossop train station is around a 15-minute walk, offering a direct service into Manchester city centre in just 32 minutes.
