This cosy renovated barn has been furnished to a good standard and offers a great base to explore the Goyt Valley and Buxton on foot, cycle or by car. It has a galleried landing over the lounge leading to a good sized bedroom and bathroom. The cottage is only a short drive from the small town of Whaley Bridge and a stone’s throw away from many walks within the Peak District National Park. Fernilee is within walking distance of both Fernilee and Erwood reservoirs and the walks start from the front door. There is also a cosy country pub within a few minutes walk offering home cooked food and a warm welcome. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles

Whaley Bridge has a range of local amenities (supermarket/post office/ butchers/train station/cycle shop) and a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants. There ia also a canal basin with more walks and pleasure boat day trips.
The spa town of Buxton is also a short drive away where you can enjoy a show at Buxton Opera House, a visit to the pictiuresque Pavilion Gardens or a trip to Poole’s Cavern. Buxton also boasts a variety of shops, cafes. pubs and restaurants. Other nearby attractions are Bakewell, where you can treat yourself to a pudding, and Castleton, a picturesque village with stunning walks and scenery, caves to visit and the dramatic Winnat’s Pass as a backdrop. The famous Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall are also in the local area and are well worth a visit.
