Description

This lovely three storey house is situated in a quiet residential street, within easy walking distance of all the attractions of Buxton - including the Opera House, the Pavilion Gardens and a wide range of shops and restaurants. Beautifully decorated and furnished, it offers an ideal base for enjoying the many festivals and events throughout the year, whilst being on the doorstep of spectacular Peak District countryside.
The Servant’s Quarters is part of a large Victorian stone villa, with its entrance at first floor level from the street. A spacious ground floor kitchen opens into a private garden, an ideal spot to relax and dine in the summer. Leading from the kitchen, the lounge offers comfortable sofas and a big bay window to take in the light. Upstairs, on separate floors, are two stylishly decorated bedrooms, each with a large, high quality bed and crisp bed linen. The top floor bedroom enjoys its own sitting area and a new en suite shower room whilst the middle floor bedroom is across the landing from the main bathroom. This makes it an ideal layout for either a family or two couples.

About the local area

Buxton’s festivals are world renowned - opera, literature, and Gilbert and Sullivan, to name a few. A newly opened arts centre in the Pavilion Gardens complements the stunning Opera House, designed over a 100 years ago. The magnificent Crescent, rivaled only by the one at Bath, is now also being restored to its former glory. From your holiday home you can stroll through the gardens past these architectural gems to the theatres, shops, cafes and restaurants.
The moors of the Peak District surround Buxton (’the town in the hills’) and there is a hugh choice of superb walks. In addition there are former railway lines which offers miles of traffic free cycling and spectacular views. The caves and caverns of Castleton are easy to reach, as are the grand stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park and historic market towns such as Bakewell and Ashbourne.
Buxton lies at the end of a mainline railway from Manchester and is well served by buses too so it is easy to enjoy a break here without using a car.
