This lovely old stone farmhouse enjoys uninterrupted views across open farmland from a quiet village location. From here you can walk down to Bradford Dale and Lathkill Dale or into the village centre with its three pubs and a few small shops. The garden is at the front and catches the sun all day, so is a lovely place to sit and admire the view. Inside, thick curved walls, a wood burning stove and an open fire all add character, combined with a modern kitchen and bathroom.

About the local area

The property sits just off the centre of the village of Youlgreave and surrounded by the stunning landscape of the ’White Peak’. It is one of the larger villages in the Peak District, with narrow streets and an impressive church. Lanes and footpaths branch out in every direction, across fields and along riverbanks. Downstream is the picturesque hamlet of Alport with a stone packhorse bridge and millponds. The historic market towns of Bakewell, Ashbourne, Matlock and Wirksworth all offer a good choice of independent shops, delis and restaurants, summer arts festivals and events. The historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are both only a few miles away, plus several National Trust properties not far. Cyclists can enjoy  traffic free cycling on former railway lines such as the Tissington Trail and more recently opened Monsal Trail.
