This challenging but exhilarating 7 mile walk takes you high up on to the Kinder Plateau where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Vale of Edale.
The Peak district is famed for its blanket bog and Kinder Scout is an area where the National Trust is trying to conserve what's left of this precious habitat. Blanket bog creates a fantastic environment for many rare species of plants and animals so don't forget to look out for the many ground nesting birds that come to feed and breed closeby. Another highlight of the walk are the peculiar rock formations at the south end of Kinder Scout which have been carved by ice, water and wind over many thousands of years.
The route starts at Edale where there is a car park, toilets, cafe and a number of pubs selling hot food and drinks.
