Starting either in Berwick in the north or Derby in the south the Pennine Cycleway follows along the spine of England though the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Northumberland National Park.
The southern section which starts at Derby Railway Station joins the Etwall - Mickelover railway path and continues along quiet country lanes to the market town of Ashbourne where it joins the Tissington Trail. This 16 mile traffic free section is also very popular with walkers and horse riders. After here you decent down to the busy market town of Buxton which is the highest elevated of any other in England! There is plenty to doat this popular holiday destination including the Buxton Opera House, Pooles Cavern and the Pavilion Gardens.
