There is no need to take your own bikes when visiting Derbyshire. The county has many hire centres which offer a wide variety of bikes including baby seats, child buggies, mountain bikes, trailerbikes and tandems!
Nine specially designed journeys have been mapped out by the tourist board which range from a modest seven miles right up to a more strenuous 28 miles! These routes take you around peaceful reservoirs, along unused railway tracks and through traditional estate villages. Another huge draw for keen cyclists is the Peak District Electric Bicycle Network. This unique system offers you a brand new way of discovering the beautiful Peak District countryside. Those keen to get stuck into some serious mountain biking have three long distance routes to explore. Trans Pennine Trail, Pennine Cycleway and Cheshire Cycleway all run through the county.
