Derbyshire has miles of man made reservoirs ideal for relaxing boat rides, sailing and more extreme activities such as water skiing and power boating! Take to the water at Carsington where you will find the very best in water activities. Staffed by professionals and amateur enthusiasts the centre, on the western side of the water offers a number of activities such as sailing, windsurfing, power boating, kayaking and canoeing. Elsewhere reservoirs such as Torside and Harold offer similar such activities.
Those looking for a slower pace of life could try navigating their way along the River Derwent in one of the boats that are available for hire in the town of Belper in the Amber Valley. It’s a great way to spot wildlife and hopefully you will stay dry!
