Pavilion Gardens in Buxton
Located in Buxton, this historic venue is a stunning Garden set in 23 acres of recently restored land, with a main building acting as a tourist center for the attraction. The Pavilion Gardens are host to fairs, events and farmers markets throughout the year and has at least one event most weekends. Alton Towers
This well known theme park and resort is based in the grounds of a former stately home in Staffordshire. It is estimated that around 3.1 million people visited during 2008 making it the second most visited theme park after Pleasure Beach in Blackpool in the UK and the 11th most visited theme park in Europe. Chatsworth House and Gardens
Chatsworth is one of the UK’s most popular historic houses and estates. The Heights of Abraham
The heights of Abraham are on of the oldest attractions in the Peak District. This historic day combines technology and natural beauty. Since 1780 when it was first opened, visitors have travelled to see the underground caverns, acres of woodland but most famously the cable car system that was built in 1984. Before the introduction of Britain’s first cable car, visitors would have to scale the slopes of Masson Hill. Visitors can now comfortably take in the views of the Derwent Valley and the Peak District from the alpine style cable car. Donnington Grand Prix Collection
This attraction boasts the largest collection of Grand Prix racing cars in the world. 130 Exhibits are spread out over five halls displaying the history of motor sports. The collection of famous cars include ones driven by famous stars such as Nigel Mansell, Tazio Nuvolari and AyrtonSenna. Donnington Grand Prix Collection is home to the greatest collection of McLaren racing cars, driver’s helmets and a complete collection of Vanwalls. Fans of any motor sport will be thrilled to relive history with the fascinating exhibits on display.
