Dawn Cottage is a warm welcoming family run traditional farm set within the Dovedale region of Peak District National Park, between Ashbourne and Buxton. The owners run a livestock farm, and as well as breeding cows and sheep they also have geese, hens and sheepdogs. This beautiful barn conversion is located on a gentle hillside offering glorious panoramic views over the River Dove and open countryside extending to the Tissington Trail and the Dove Valley.
The cottage offers light and airy open plan ground floor living and three good sized bedrooms upstairs with original beams and fabulous views outside. The cottage is close to the Tissington Trail and the River Dove which can be easily reached on foot from the doorstep for many stunning and interesting walks and cycle routes.

About the local area

There are hundreds of footpaths, which enable you to take in the fresh country air and view breathtaking scenery. The Tissington, Manifold and High Peak trails are all close by as is the pretty village of Hartington, famous for its cheese shop.
A short drive can take you to the market towns of Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock. Ashbourne has many different types of shops, classy restaurants and a local market every week. Bakewell, with its meandering river and quaint shops, cafes and bars has a popular weekly market selling local produce. The spa town of Buxton, famous for its spring water, has an Opera House showing internationally famous stars, ballets and operas, a lovely park - Spring Gardens - and many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. It also has a Go Ape park nearby where you can swing through the trees safely and visit the caves of Poole Cavern.
Matlock, Matlock Bath and Cromford each have attractions well worth a visit including The Heights of Abraham, Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Arkwright Mill and Retail Park. A fantastic location with endless walks, cycle routes taking in some of Derbyshire’s most stunning scenery.
