About the local area

On the doorstep of the property is an extensive network of bridle paths, mountain bike treks and miles of public footpaths. In the village are four pubs doing excellent food and serving traditional ales. The village boasts a well stocked convenience store, post office and a beautiful church well worth a visit.

Repton is home to a long established public school, is very pretty and steeped in history. This thriving village has a fascinating past, it's situated in the Trent valley between Derby and Burton-On-Trent in the county of Derbyshire. On one side of the village is the Old Trent, the remnants of the former course of the river, on the other three is attractive rolling farmland.

There are many other interesting places to visit in the surrounding areas of Derby and the Leicestershire border. Derby Museum and Art Gallery is an enjoyable day out for all the family. Other places include; Melbourne Hall - with its delightful house full of history and the shops and gardens. Ashby de la Zouch Castle was a 12th Century Manor House reaching Castle status in the 15th Century, despite suffering damage in the Civil War it is an excellent place to visit. Calke Abbey is a country house with parklands to explore and sightings of red and fallow deer can be seen. A truly wonderful part of the country and a unique, high quality property, great for family or occasional get togethers.

What our customers say

M A Moore - April 2012

The farm was excellent, the owners couldn't have done more for us and the only problem was the weather but the facilities were so good, even that didn't dampen our spirits.

A Grenyer - November 2011

LOVELY COMFY BEDS, EXCELLANT FACILITIES, NO RESTRICTIONS ON HEATING AND A GOOD BASE TO EXPLORE DERBYSHIRE.

November 2011

The owners were exceptionally helpful providing additional kitchen equipment, food processor and additional crockery and space in their own freezer for food when we ran out of space in the freezer in the accommodation.
