This original Stockman's cottage is located on a quiet country lane in the sleepy village of Pratthall near Cutthorpe. The Cottage has fabulous views from the lounge window out onto the rolling hills and surrounding countryside. The garden to the rear of the property is totally enclosed and private offering an ideal area to appreciate the long summer evenings. The local pub is only a short walk up the hill and serves renowned good home cooked food and the nearby village of Baslow has further pubs and restaurants. In nearby Baslow the park entrance to the famous stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth House can be found. Here there are beautiful walks and the house is open to the public together with the stunning gardens.
A short drive away is Bakewell, famous for its tarts and puddings. It has many shops, pubs and is a beautiful small market town situated on the River Wye which is crossed by a 13th century five arched bridge still open to traffic. A short drive away is Buxton famous for its spa water. Here there are many attractions such as Poole's Cavern, the Pavilion Gardens and the olde worlde Buxton Opera House, showing many popular and famous acts.
Matlock and Matlock Bath are situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. A former spa town lying alongside the River Derwent, Matlock is the historic town of Derbyshire. The popular tourist resort of Matlock Bath is a short distance away following the course of the river valley which is renowned for its industrial heritage sites. In Matlock bath there are many different types of attractions including the Heights of Abraham and nearby the famous Arkwright Mill and Cromford Mill. This cosy cottage is in a great location and would suit couples or a small family as a cot can be provided. It is within a short drive from many of the popular towns and villages of Derbyshire.
