It has many interesting shops and plenty of restaurants to try for a variety of palettes. Two minutes down the road from Bakewell is Haddon Hall, another famous historic home with beautiful gardens.
Chesterfield is within easy reach offering many shops, department store’s , a railway station  and an entertainment centre. Alton Towers, the popular theme park, can be easily reached from the M1 motorway just a short ride from the town centre.
