This beautiful cottage is to the rear of the 16th Century Cheshire Cheese Pub which got its name from one of the  stopping points on route for the salt carriers travelling from Cheshire, over the Pennines to Yorkshire. The horse drawn salt carriers paid for their accommodation with cheese, thus the name of the pub which still has the original cheese hooks inside. The owners of both the cottage and the Cheshire Cheese Pub offer home cooked food and real cask ales and are proud to be listed in the "2010 Good Pub and Beer Guide".

The cottage is located in an excellent ares for walking and cycling around the Hope Valley and is within a short walk of the popular Winn and Lose Hill. The cottage has been tastefully decorated and offers very comfortable accommodation in quiet peaceful surroundings. The village of Hope has a number of shops and offers a good bus service, and has a train station only 1 mile away.

The popular village of Edale is either a short drive or a quick train journey from the cottage and enjoys stunning scenery with views of Back Tor on route. Over the hill from Edale is Chapel-en-le-Firth with its many shops and restaurants. Buxton is a little further by car and offers an excellent Opera House, shopping mall and beautiful park and gardens. Bakewell is close by with its flowing river and interesting shops and restaurants, with Haddon Hall only a couple of minutes drive down the road. An excellent location, within easy reach of many interesting villages and walks.
