Ruby Cottage is a renovated one bedroom cottage, located in an elevated position in the quaint village of Longnor close to the popular spa town of Buxton. The village is well equipped with local stores, pubs, post office and craft centre. There are many stunning walks right from the doorstep and the property has the benefit of being close to many interesting Derbyshire towns and villages. This ancient village is set in lovely moorland countryside, six miles to the southeast of Buxton. The River Dove flows to the north, the River Manfold to the south and large numbers of visitors came here to explore the upper reaches of these two famous valleys and the rugged scenery that surrounds them.

The popular and interesting stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall near Bakewell are within easy reach and offer a full days sightseeing. Close by is the small village of Hartington, which is famous for its tasty stilton cheese sold throughout the country. There are many walks from the cottage including the sights of Chrome Hill and Wheeldon Hill and it is only a 10 minute drive to the High Peak Trail and cycle hire. The owner will provide maps and walking guides to assist with the planning of walks around the surrounding countryside.A beautiful, cosy cottage in a pleasant location.
