This cosy, comfortable cottage is situated within walking distance of the popular town of Matlock. It is bright and airy and offers a very homely atmosphere. The property is in a local conservation area and has 4 interesting walks right from the doorstep. A walk from the property up into Lumsdale takes you to where the famous film “Stig of the Dump” was made around the derelict Mill. Other interesting walks go up to Riber Castle and down into the town which leads to Matlock Bath and Cromford.
A short drive away is Lea home of the beautiful Rhododendron Gardens where you will find a unique collection of highly acclaimed rhododendrons, azaleas kalmias and other plants collected from the far corners of the world. The popular stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are a 20 minute drive away and offer beautiful art work and stunning gardens. Cromford and its Mill are steeped in history and well worth a visit and for the shoppers the Arkwright Mill has both a working mill museum and a shopping mall.
The property has the benefit of being close to many interesting towns and villages with the fascinating market town of Bakewell and the spa town of Buxton a short drive away
