Anne Cottage is situated within walking distance, close to the centre of Bakewell. This lovely 17th century cottage has been decorated to a very high standard and boasts two en suite bedrooms. Hand painted decorative items are evident in many rooms which, along with stripped pine doors and exposed beams, give this cottage real character. With its convenient location in the heart of the Peak District National Park, close to Chatsworth and Haddon Hall with Alton Towers a short drive away this makes Anne Cottage a perfect holiday base. Bakewell is famous for its pudding and annual events and for receiving royal charter as a market town in 1330, markets are still held every Monday in the town centre and there is a thriving livestock market on the edge of the village. Modern Bakewell has something for everyone, from its many historic buildings and its wonderful riverside walks along the banks of the Wye, to its award winning newly designed and recently revamped town centre with shopping arcades and numerous emporiums of excellence. Bakewell joins in with the well dressings, this ancient custom is unique to Derbyshire. In Bakewell 5 wells are dressed and this usually takes place late June, early July. This property offers a relaxing stay in a scenic market town.
