Derbyshire and the Peak District has lots of good golf courses handily located throughout the region; to search for accommodation in the vicinity of a golf course please use the browse cottages link on this page.
Golf is the ideal way to indulge your passion and at the same time enjoy the beautiful Peak District countryside that's all around you. There's a good choice of fine 18 hole and 9 hole golf clubs to be found, many of them `hidden gems' just waiting to be played and many are within comfortable driving distance of one another.
Many golf clubs are open to the public, where you can walk up, pay and play. At some clubs you may need to book a tee time in advance and produce a handicap certificate. It's best checking first if you're in any doubt. Green fees can be very competitive and at public courses you may only pay as little as 10 for a round!
Club house facilities will vary from course to course but at many golf clubs you can enjoy restaurant and bar food as well as a relaxing drink after your game. For the irregular or inexperienced golfer you may be able to hire golf clubs at the pro's shop.
